Luke Marsh has taken the DTD Anniversary Cup £1000 buy in event, coming through a field of 186 runners.

Marsh started with a giant lead over Billy Defty in the heads up play and it was soon all over.

Congratulations Luke!

Congratulations Luke!

The two ended up all in on a JJ9Q board.

Billy had hit a straight on the turn with his King Ten

Marsh had KQ for top pair, but the third Jack arrived on the river to give Marsh the full house and the first prize of more than 50 thousand pounds.

Though he might have got lucky in the final hand, Marsh’s aggression, especially in the later stages, has made him a worthy winner.

We’ll bring you more shortly.

Jon Spinks is now in the money in the £150 Stud High Championship event here at the Dusk Till Dawn Anniversary Cup Festival. A short stacked gentleman was eliminated in 5th place by one of the heavily chipped up Latvian players to Jon’s left. With 4 players remaining, there is still everything to play for in the form of cash, the trophy and the glory!

We will bring you updates as soon as we have them and wish Jon the best of luck in taking down this tournament.

Bernie Holmes finishes in third

Bernie Holmes finishes in third

Bernie Holmes has gone out of the Anniversary Cup in third place.

Holmes, on the button, got it in with Ace-King against Luke Marsh, the dominant chip leader.

Marsh’s pocket 6’s held to knock out Holmes.

It’s now Marsh heads up with Billy Defty for the first prize of more than 50 thousand pounds, with Marsh holding a massive chip advantage.

Earlier Defty had folded Ace-Queen when Marsh had moved in on him.

Marsh raised in the small blind, Defty re-raised and Marsh quickly put him all in. Defty spent a long time in the tank before folding his Ace Queen face up.

He might be glad he did now.

Defty has 372,000 chips go into the heads up, Marsh 3.32 million.

Luke Marsh seems to be having a little trouble with the amount of chips he currently has - although we’re sure he’s not complaining. In between hands, he’s experimenting with weird and wonderful new ways to stack, but can’t seem to decide on the best approach. It’s no doubt the least of his concerns now as he tries to close out the Main Event and take down the trophy and 1st place prize money.

Jon Spinks is still going well in the £150 Stud Championship with 6 players remaining. With play 2 from the money, he looking to capitalise on his position and take the event down. Players are just returning from a break and we caught Jon for a quick interview while on the break, which will be broadcast on PTR in the next few minutes.

More updates on this and the Main Event to come as they occur, so keep listening and remember that you can email us on admin@pokertourradio.com with any comments, questions or suggestions.

The chip stacks three handed look roughly as follows:

Luke Marsh - 2,400,000

Bernie Holmes - 670,000

Billy Defty - 480,000

With such a huge chip lead, it’s unlikely that we’ll see Luke agree to any kind of deal, so the event is probably going to go the remainder of the distance.

In a recent hand, Billy Defty raised to 38,000 from the SB after Luke Marsh folded and Bernie Holmes called. The flop came 2s 8s Qc and Billy bet 40k. Bernie folded after some thought and Billy showed 7s 7h for third pair and took down a pot of around 82,000.

Nick Hicks is the fourth place finisher.

Hicks, the short stack when the players resumed, has been taken out by Billy Defty in a blind on blind confrontation with Defty’s top pair good enough.

Italian Cristiano Blanco is our 5th place finisher.

He bowed out in a pot with chip leader Luke Marsh where the money went in on a 7T4 flop.  Blanco had King-Ten, but Marsh’s Ace-Ten holds.

An interview with Cristiano is coming up very shortly.

Blanco takes home more than £11,000

Blanco takes home more than £11,000

Luke Marsh is now in a domination position with more than half the chips in play.

Given he min-raised 3-2 off under the gun earlier, Marsh is clearly capable of anything.

The players are returning to their seats after a quick break for the next level, with the chip counts as follows with the blinds increasing to 6k/12k, with a 2k ante.

Luke Marsh has nearly half the chips in play, with 1.66 million. Bernie Holmes is second with 830,000, then Cristiano Blanco has 580,000. Billy Defty is on 435,000, but the pressure is on Nick Hicks now, who has been whittled away at. He has just 182,000 chips and will need to make a move soon.

The previous half hour has seen some entertaining poker, with Marsh and Blanco involved in this clash with the blinds at 5k/10 and a 1k ante.

Marsh opens the action with a button raise for 30,000. Blanco decides to call and big blind Billy Defty leaves them to it and folds.

The flop is Kh 5c 9c. Blanco checks and Marsh puts out a continuation bet of 50,000.

Blanco check-raises his opponent, making it 150,000 in total.

Luke dwells for more than two minutes and Blanco tries a bit of table chat…”You can’t re-raise,” the Italian says..”I will call”.

He was right. Marsh eventually folds and Blanco takes the pot.

Is it bed time yet??

Is it bed time yet??

Well, there are still 5 players left in the Main Event, and 4 other tournaments are running too, so it’s very busy here at the club. The action at the final table of the Main Event is very sparse though, with no-one seemingly willing to make any moves or commit any decent portion of their stack with the bigger prizes looming on the horizon.

Jon Spinks is going strong in the Stud with 10 players remaining. He looks to be about 2nd in chips and 4 players will get paid, with the top prize coming in at about £1600. We’ll keep you up to date with the progress of Jon and everyone else in the Stud event as the evening progresses.

Ints Grinbaums is the 6th place finisher after a giant confrontation with Luke Marsh.

Grinbaums raised under the gun to 40,000 with the blinds at 5k/10k. Luke Marsh, on the button, calls.

The flop comes down 7h 4h Jh. Grinbaums makes it 30k to play and Marsh re-raises to 100,000. Grinbaums decides to call.

The turn is a Jc. Grinbaums checks and Marsh throws in another 100,000 chips. Grinbaums moves in, with Marsh just covered. Marsh can’t wait to call - he has quad Jacks, while Grinbaums only has pocket 6s.

Grinbaums was left with just 12,000 chips but has doubled up when he moves in with 36. Marsh hopes to apply the kill with Queens, but Grinbaums can carry on a little longer - the flop comes 24567 to give the Latvian the straight.

But the end soon comes as Grinbaums moves in with 67. This time Marsh applies the coup de grace with his A5.

He’s off back to the Baltics with ten thousand pounds though.

Trevor Reardon has bowed out in 7th place. He moved in with pocket Jacks following a raise by Cristiano Blanco, who had Reardon covered and called with Ace-Queen.

Blanco win the race as the Queen falls and one time chip leader Reardon bows out of the tournament.

Meanwhile Ints Grinbaums and Nick HIcks have enjoyed a blind on blind confrontation.

Grinbaums raises to 30k, with the blinds at 5k/10k, and Hicks calls. The flop is 3h 3s Ks and Grinbaums bets 25,000. Hicks calls. Grinbaums then fires in a 60,000 bet when the turn comes the Ah. Hicks takes his time, but calls again.

Both players check the river, the Jd.

Hicks shows K7 but Grinbaums has A9 to take the pot.

Cristiano Blanco has lost a big pot to Nick Hicks.

With the blinds still at 4000/8000 plus the 1k antes, Blanco raised to 27,000 in mid position. Nick Hicks calls in the big blind.

The flop comes Kd 9c 6c. Hicks checks to Blanco, who puts in a hefty bet of 75,000. Hicks calls.

Both players check on the turn, the Jack of Hearts.

The river is 5h and Nick leads out for the first time in the hand, making a bet of 80,000. Blanco calls pretty quickly but instamucks in disgust as Hicks shows King-Jack for two pair.

The pot takes Hicks beyond the 600,000 mark, but with no short stacks at the table we might be waiting for a while for a really big confrontation.

David Anderson is the 8th place finisher after he was knocked out by Ints Grinbaums.

Anderson was the short stack on the table after losing a pot earlier to Bernie Holmes.

With blinds at 4000/8000 with a 1000 ante, Luke Marsh raised to 25,000 from early position. It was folded around to Latvian Ints Grinbaums on the button, who re-raised to 75,000.

Anderson clearly had an agonising decision and went into the tank…so much so that Luke mucked his hand out of turn.

Anderson pushed and Grinbaums called immediately. Grinbaums couldn’t have been in much better shape as he showed As Ks, to have Anderson’s Kd Qc dominated.

The board came down 9h Kh 3d 10d 2d to eliminate Anderson, who takes home ten thousand pounds.

Grinbaums, who was down to 4000 chips at one stage much earlier in the tournament, is now in a strong position.

David Anderson doubles up

In a complete replay of a hand which occurred yesterday night with two tables left, David Anderson and Billy Defty have just got into an all in race confrontation with AQ against 44.

Billy limped in middle position and Ints Grinbaums followed him in, before Anderson raised all in from the button for 96k. Billy called the shove and Grinbaums got out of the way to leave the two racing, with Anderson’s tournament life on the line holding AQ.

The flop didn’t look promising for David, coming 978, but a Q on the turn put him in front, leaving Grinbaums needing to hit a two outer to eliminate Anderson, or a T for a chop. The river brough a J though and Anderson doubled through to over 200k in chips.

John Eames is eliminated in 9th place

Unfortunately it’s a walk to the cash desk to collect 9th place prize money of £3,534. After Cristiano Blanco raised to 20k from UTG, it was folded to Eames, who pushed all in for a total of around 80k. Blanco made the call and tabled AQ against John’s 99. The flop brought immediate bad news for Eames, coming K3A and an 8 on the turn was not quite what he needed to pull back into the lead. With the river coming an unnecessary Q to give Blanco Aces up, John was eliminated, Blanco added more chips to his large stack and we are now down to just 8 players.

We hope to get an interview with the young internet player soon, which we will bring you as soon as we have it.

David Jones, who was short stacked at the start of the day, is out, leaving us with a 9-man final table.

Jones, who had just over 100,000 chips when play began, shoved on the button with the blinds still at 3000/6000.

Luke Marsh snap called in the big blind. Not surprising, given he had Aces, while Jones had his fingers in the till with K6.

The flop was Ad 2d 3d, and Jones had some hope with the King of Diamonds in his hand.

The turn was the Qs and the river 5c and Jones bows out one short of the final table for £2604.

David Anderson arrived late and promptly suffered in his first hand of the day.

The blinds are now 3000/6000, with 1000 antes.

Anderson got the action underway when limped in the cut off. Overnight Chip leader Billy Defty completes in the small blind, only to see Nick Hicks raise in the big blind to 31,000. Anderson calls, while Defty decides to fold.

The flop is Ac Ks 2d. Hicks checks to Anderson, who has position, and Anderson puts out a bet of 45,000. Nick calls.

The turn is 6s. Hicks checks, Anderson fires out a second bet, this time 70,000. Hicks makes the call once more.

The river is 5c. Nick checks for the third time and Anderson makes river bet of 90,000 chips. Nick Hicks calls and his top pair with AJ beats Anderson’s second pair with K7 suited.

Italian Cristiano Blanco has to wonder what might have been. He says he folded A2 pre-flop.

After losing a big pot, Kevin was down to just over 100k, he exited to Billy Defty, Billy completed the small blind, and Kevin checked. The board came Q27, Billy checks and Kevin just open shoved 100k into a 10k pot, Billy, who has already made one amazing call with 33, makes the call with QJ, Kevin can only turn over Q9, the turn and river blank, and we lose Kevin O’Connell in 11th place, we are now on the final table bubble and approaching the end of day 3.

Comments No Comments »

There has been plenty of action since we got down to 11, as the tables are shorthanded and the players are tired, Trevor Reardon picked up a big pot off John Eames, Reardon raised the cutoff and was called by Eames in the big blind. The board came 982 rainbow, Trevor bet 25k, Eames raised to 55k, and Reardon moved in, Eames had a tough decision with his remaining 150k stack, and questions out loud whether he wants to gamble, he eventually doesn’t, and Reardon takes down the big pot.

Ints Grinbaums has been thick in the action, after rivering the 6 outer vs Dean Pearson for a 250k+ pot, there was a 3 way pot, where he lead 10k on a J93 board, David Jones called from the big blind, and John Eames folded. The turn was a king, he bet 10k again, and Jones callled. The river was a queen, he bet 10k again, and Jones raised to 42.5k, Ints eventually made the call and showed K3 for 2 pair, but it was no good against the JT of Jones. Jones has seen a huge increase in his stack in the last few hours, and is now over 200k.

Then a few hands later, Ints is in a hand from the big blind, calling a Trevor Reardon raise. The board comes QJ2 board, Ints leads for 21.5k and Trevor calls. The turn is another jack, Ints checks, and Reardon bets 40k, Ints slowly makes the call. The river is a 7, Ints checks and Trevor checks after a lot of thought, Ints turns over 99 and Reardon was not impressed, mucking in disgust.

Will Fry finished 12th for £2600, we picked up the action on an 8842 board, Fry bet 40k from the BB, and the button dwelled and called. The river is a J and Fry immediately announces all in for 130k, the button sits back in his seat and thinks for 7-8 minutes, he eventually announces call, Fry turns over Q3 high, and the button shows 33 for what turned out to be a very good call.

Play has really tightened up and we’re not seeing much action at all. There are still 13 players left and the blinds are at 2k/4k with a 500 ante. Dean Pearson - the online qualifier through the DTD Forum Challenge - is sitting on a stack of 150k, with the average at 280k.

We will bring some hand updates soon, but with so little action either preflop or postflop, it’s going to be difficult to get too excited about the play any time soon.

David Anderson has knocked out John Burke to claim his second victim since the bubble.

The hand ended up with Anderson, who had Burke covered, getting it all in pre flop with AQ against Burke’s A7.

Ace-Queen held for Anderson, who joked afterwards “Is nobody else doing any work round here?”.

He’d already knocked out Steve Jelinek and Anderson now looks to have every chance of a place on the final table.

Dean Pearson remains in decent shape, with a stack of just under 200k.  The average is 248,000.

We are down to 15 runners, with the prize money moving up a notch for 13th and above.

Play will carry on until 4am UK time, or until we have 9 standing.

The action has been very slow since we got down to 17, finally we lost another, Paul Gourlay shoves his 8bb stack with Q8 UTG+2, BB dwells and calls with KQ and it holds.

Table 14 has been very quiet, Dean Pearson has just taken down a nice little pot with 88, he flatted John Eames’s UTG raise for 7.8k, the flop came K65, John bets 14.5k, and Dean calls, the turn comes a 5 and it goes check/check, the river is a 3 and it goes check/check again, John announces ace high, but Dean turns over 88 and rakes in a pot which moves him towards 200k.

Steve Jelinek is the first player to bust out in the money.

First Jelinek doubled through John Burke in a blind on blind confrontation. Short-stacked Burke shoved A4 in the small blind, Jelinek called with KT and failed to improve.

That left him with around 85 thousand chips with the blinds at 1500/3000.

A short time later David Anderson raised to 12,000 in early position. Jelinek then moved in for his remaining 81 thousand. It was folded back round to Anderson, who after some deliberation, made the call. Anderson had him covered and flipped over Jacks, while Jelinek showed Ace-King.

A 29567 board meant Jelinek bowed out for £1860 for his two and a half day grind.

James Mitchell has gone out in 20th place after a monster confrontation with Trevor Reardon.

Nick Hicks initially raised to 7.6k in early position with the blinds up at 1500/3000. James Mitchell calls and sees Trevor Reardon makes it 22,600 on the button.

Nick folds, James shoves in his stack of just over 200,000. Trevor calls.

Mitchell shows AK, while Reardon has QQ. Reardon just has him covered. The Queens hold on a 47TJ4 board and Mitchell bows out two places off the money.

Be very afraid, it’s bubble time!

Comments No Comments »

We are starting level 14 now, 1.5/3k with a 400 ante, there are 20 remaining and the average stack is 186k, so the average still has 62 big blinds worth of play, where else would you find that in the UK for a £1k event?

Comments No Comments »

After no action for over an hour, we finally get an all in and call! Steve Jelinek raises the button, Luke Marsh calls from the BB, the board comes As Ad 3d, Luke leads for about 8k, Steve raises to 30k and Luke moves in for 60k more, Steve calls and is disgusted to see his A8 is no good against the A9 of Marsh, the turn brings the 7 of diamonds which gives Steve a flush draw, but the river is a meaningless 2, putting Marsh back over 200k, and Steve down to about 120k.

The players are now on a 15 minute break, and the blinds will be 1.5/3k with a 400 ante

We’ve just lost Fraser Bain in 21st place to a really tough beat so close to the money, he got his 50k stack in with KQ on a Q95 board, Alan Jennings tanked for minutes before eventually folding, but Kevin O’Connell made the call with A9, there was no river torture, as the ace promptly hit on the turn, leaving Fraser to walk away very disappointed. O’Connell has been the most active player since the dinner break and is now sitting on over 250k.

Then a couple rounds later, Bernie Holmes raises from the cutoff and gets called by Luke Marsh, the board comes Qd 3d 5s, Marsh check/raises Holmes, who shoves in his remaining stack of around 130k, Marsh calls and flips 6d4d for a straight + flush draw, Holmes turns over Ad Qh for top pair, top kicker. The turn and river are the jack and ten of hearts, and Bernie has now passed the 300k mark, whilst Luke has dropped to around 100k.

Kevin O’Connell limps in from UTG+1, Dean Pearson calls from the cutoff, the button calls and the BB checks. The board comes 7d 3c Ac and gets checked around, the turn was the 4 of hearts, checked to O’Connell, who bets 9k, Pearson calls, and the BB calls. The river was the Qs and was checked around, O’Connell shows A9, but Pearson outkicked him with AT to take down a 40k pot.

Finally there was some action on table 21, as Ints Grinbaums got it all in on a 9s 5c 2c board vs the AQ of clubs of Mark Wilson, the turn was a 6s and the river a 2 of diamonds, and Ints is up to almost 100k.

We’re down to 21 players after Liaquat Javed has left the tournament in 22nd place. After pushing his stack in preflop, Javed was called in two spots while holding 44. The board came with 4 hearts and a whole bunch of overcards, but Liaquat had no heart and was eliminated by one of the other two players in the pot, who checked it down the whole way.

Players are now on their dinner break and play will resume in 1 hour at level 13 with blinds of 1200/2400 with a 300 ante. Chip stacks are being counted currently and will be announced as soon as they are known. The average stack now though is about 177k

Fraser Bain has dropped about 40k in a pot with Kevin O’Connell on table 12 with 22 players remaining.

With the action folded to O’Connell on the cutoff, he raised to 5.5k and Bain called out of the BB. The flop came Jh Td 6s and Fraser led out for 6.5k, which O’Connell called.

The turn brought the 7 of clubs and Bain led out again, this time for 12.5k into the 25k pot and was raised by O’Connell to 27.5k. Fraser called this bet and the river came the 5 of spades.

Bain checked the river to O’Connell, who announced a bet of 50k, inducing a fold from Bain, who finished the hand about 40k in chips down.

2 big hands have happened in the last 10 minutes on Table 11, after losing with QQ vs KK button vs blind, James Mitchell got himself into even more trouble, getting it in with AT on an A83Q board vs Paul Brammer’s AJ, it wasn’t to be Paul’s day though, after losing with full house vs full house right at the start of the day, he now saw the ten fall on the river to send him out in 23rd.

Paul Gourlay has managed to double up through David Jones too, Nick Hicks raises from early position, and is called by David Jones and another person, and Paul calls in the big blind. The board comes AT8 and is checked around, the turn is a 4, its checked around to David who bets 7k, and Paul moves in for around 45k, David calls with AJ, and the river is an 8, giving Paul a full house, and pushing him over 100k.

We have quite a contrast in tables 11 and 21, 21 has been full of pre-flop raises taking it down, John Eames has been running over the table with his aggressive pre-flop play, and is sitting on a very healthy stack. There has only been 1 all in on that table all day.

Table 11 however, has been very action packed. We’ve had so many shouts of all in and call on table 11 it’s hard to walk away from it! Most of the action has come from James Mitchell, Will Fry and Cristiano Blanco, who is the chip leader by a fair margin, sitting on over 400k.

As we move towards 2 tables left and the money, I’m sure there will be plenty more action, although with the brilliant structure and the level of play left for everyone, we could be waiting a long time for the money to be reached.

Will Fry

After a tough first level EPT winner Will Fry has doubled through early in the second level of the day.

The blinds are now at 1000/2000 with antes of 300.

James Mitchell raised from the button for 6k and Fry re-raised to 18,000. Mitchell moved in, with Fry covered. Fry quickly calls with Kings and Mitchell shows Queens. Fry dodges a Queen and moves up to roughly 150,000 chips. Mitchell is down to approximately 100,000.

Rickie Vedhara is out, he was all in pre-flop with pocket 8s but ran into Bernie Holmes pocket Queens. Holmes had him covered and Vedhara goes out in 24th.

23 players are left, 5 more to go before the remaining 18 make the money and play will continue until we have our 9 man final table.

Dean Pearson

Dean Pearson

Runners left:24 Blinds: 800/1600, antes 200

Dusk till Dawn Forum challenge qualifier Dean Pearson has taken down a tidy pot. Dean raised to 4,000 in early position and was called Bernie Holmes, while Kevin O’Connell opted to complete in the big blind.

The flop was Kd 3c 2d - Dean checked, Bernie checked and Kevin also checked.

The turn was 8h, Dean lead out for 8,000 and both opponents folded.

Meanwhile O’Connell and Steve Jelinek have both been involved in another confrontation. O’Connell raised to 4700 pre flop and Jelinek re-raised, making it 15,000 to go. O’Connell folds and Jelinek is kind enough to show him pocket Aces.

Paul Gourlay raises it up to 4.5k from the cutoff, Nick Hicks calls from the BB, the board comes Kc 5c 2s, Nick checks, Paul bets 9k, and Nick makes the call.

The turn is the K of hearts, and goes check/check. River is the 7 of hearts, Nick bets 12k, Paul calls, and Nick turns over KJ for trips and Paul mucks

Nick has been on the charge since the start, now up to 240k and one of the chip leaders.

John Burke, who had 80 thousand chips overnight, has managed to double through off Latvian Ints Grinbaums.

Burke shoved on a flop of 5d Td Kc flop, Grinbaums made the call with Ad Qd, the nut flush draw.

Burke showed pocket Kings for top set and with hearts coming on the turn on the river he doubled through.

Sadikiah Tapper, who had 26 thousand chips at the start of the day, has gone out. His shove with 8c Tc was quickly called by Ace-King and Tapper couldn’t improve.

24 players are left in, with around 45 minutes left at the current level of 800/1600 with 200 ante.

We still have 25 players left with the blinds at 800/1600 and an ante of 200. The average stack is just under 150,000.

Overnight chip leader Cristiano Blanco has won a pot with Will Fry. We picked up the action on the turn, where Fry bets with the board 2344 and is called by Blanco. The river is a 7. Both players check. Fry shows A9, but Blanco takes the pot down with a better Ace high as he turns over Ace-Jack.

Blanco was also involved in another pot where he raised in mid position to 4.5k, only to be re-raised by Paul Brammer to 12,500 in the cutoff. Blanco folds.

Blanco and Fry have been battling all day so far since Fry was moved to his table, another hand occured when Fry raised to 4.5k on the cutoff, and Blanco calls from the BB, the board came Ts Qd 3d, Blanco checks, Fry bets 5k, Blanco raises to 13k, Fry thinks for about 30 seconds before reluctanctly folding.

Steve Jelinek has also won a pot from Kevin O’Connell. With 7,000 in the pot on a Tc 5s 8s Ks board Jelinek leads out for 5,000 from the big blind. O’Connell groans but calls after around a minute’s thought. The river is the 9 of diamonds. Steve bets 7.5k, Kevin calls. Jelinek shows a set of 5s, and O’Connell mucks his hand

The field is down to 25, the short stack Mohammed Javed decided it wasn’t worth turning up with 2400 chips and was quickly blinded out.

David Anderson doubled through on his first hand of the day.

Anderson was check raised on a Q83 flop by Paul Brammer and elected to call. The turn was another Queen. Anderson quickly moved all in. An unhappy Brammer thought and decided to call. Anderson showed pocket 8s for the full house, while Brammer had pocket 3s for the under full, Anderson has now doubled up to approximately 190,000 chips. A pretty sick start to the day.

Glyn Cooke, who was short stacked at the start of the day on 43,000 chips, is now out. His AQ on an AQ5 board was no good against Nichei Hicks set of 5s.

Kevin Pearce has been eliminated by Trevor Reardon. Reardon had Pearce covered and called Pearce’s all in move on a 942 board with his pocket Queens. Pearce turned over pocket 3s and Reardon didn’t even need the third Queen on the river to cut the field to 25.

18 are paid.

After showing extreme patience for most of today, Dean Pearson has now caught a break and significantly added to his stack. With QQ, Dean got into a pot with Liaquat Javed and the flop came all undercards. Liaquat overbet the pot on the flop, Dean flat called and the turn came a J. Liaquat then checked to Dean, who bet 20k, which was called. The river came a blank and Dean bet 20k again when checked to, which Liaquat called before mucking his hand.

After shipping that pot, Dean was sitting on almost 130k and was well above average, although he has since dropped to about 110k after losing a pot with JJ on a K high board against KJ.

After losing a pot with QQ where 24o made two pair, Dean is again building a stack after taking down a pot with his bogey hand - AK. After raising preflop and getting called by Liaquat Javed, they checked it down on an innocent looking board and Dean’s A high was good at the river. He shipped the pot and declared he was now definitely going to win the tournament. As someone with a stake in Dean after he won the seat in the DTD Forum Challenge, I for one hope he’s right!
